May 21, 2026- OMWD Wins APWA Project of the Year

Olivenhain Municipal Water District’s Rancho Santa Fe Road Potable Water Pipeline Replacement Project was named a 2026 Project of the Year. The American Public Works Association’s San Diego and Imperial County Chapter announced the awards at its annual event in San Diego on May 21, 2026. I was honored to attend. Congratulations to the entire project team.

March 10, 2026-OMWD Again Obtains AAA Bond Rating

OMWD’s financial health was reviewed by Fitch Ratings, which again confirmed our top-tier AAA bond rating for the 10th consecutive year. We’ve had this AAA rating for our revenue bonds since 2016, which shows we're solid in creditworthiness and financial stability. So, what’s a bond rating? It’s basically a score that shows how strong an institution’s finances are. AAA is the highest score you can get from Fitch Ratings, a global agency that gives independent credit opinions. Maintaining this top rating means OMWD remains committed to providing great service to our community, staying within our budget, and managing our finances responsibly.

January 31, 2026-OMWD Awarded CWEA's Collection System of the Year Honors

In 4-S Ranch and Cielo, OMWD converts wastewater into recycled water, reducing our dependency on imported water. This year, I was pleased to be present when OMWD accepted the California Water Environment Association San Diego Section’s 2025 Collection System of the Year Award at its awards event on January 31, 2026. It is a high honor and well-deserved by OMWD’s entire wastewater team.
