June 2, 2025-Historic CWA-MWD Settlement Agreement Reached

For many years, the Metropolitan Water District, our wholesale water provider to the north, and the San Diego County Water Authority were at odds, including divisive lawsuits that hindered regional water solutions. Upon joining the Water Authority board, I was proud to be appointed to the CWA/MWD settlement steering committee and to participate in direct settlement discussions. This has culminated in a groundbreaking settlement agreement that not only resolves our differences with MWD but also opens the door to new and innovative ways to create a water marketplace befitting our entire region. I joined CWA and MWD at the settlement signing ceremony on June 2, 2025.
